Using Script Typefaces

Script typefaces mimic fluid handwriting or calligraphy. They add elegance and personality but must be used sparingly to ensure text remains legible.

Script fonts try to capture the vibe of handwriting or calligraphy. They can range from fancy, wedding-invitation styles to casual, marker-brush looks. They pack a ton of emotion and personality.

But there is one Golden Rule: Never, ever use script fonts for body copy. It’s impossible to read. And please, never set them in ALL CAPS—the connecting strokes break, and it looks like a mess. We use scripts very sparingly—maybe for a signature on an email or a specific "human" element in a graphic. They are the spice, not the meal.
