ISO Standards for Ensuring Quality and Compliance in IT

ISO makes international standards for organisations so that these organisations can provide high-quality, safe, dependable, and efficient services. ISO standards specifically to guide organisations to use it in the IT industry to establish a secure operating environment, to outline the (security) procedures that are needed to protect information from (unauthorised users) and to manage (potential risks). ISO standards help   to establish their compliance with testing methods proposed by ISO standards, establish best practices for internal methods and processes and build confidence among customers and partners.

ISO 9001 specifies a method for establishing a quality management system to establish a consistent quality output and service delivery to customers. ISO 27001 specifies how to protect sensitive information and manage risks associated with the protection of that information through the use of ISO-compliant methods. ISO 20000 outlines best practices for managing IT services, including support and service delivery in accordance with industry standards.

ISO certification is achieved through a series of intense audits and internal review processes to ensure that the organisation remains committed to improvement and to the organisation's compliance with all ISO guidelines. A fully compliant organisation will achieve stronger governance, increased customer confidence, and an improved culture that highly values the quality and security of its products/services. For IT and ITES organisations, a commitment to following ISO standards establishes a standard by which IT/ITES companies can evaluate their operational performance and prepare their businesses to succeed into the future.
