How Frameworks Accelerate Modern Software Development

Frameworks create a foundation to allow software developers to build applications. Rather than coding everything from scratch, developers can build upon the available patterns and libraries in a framework that provide solutions for many common tasks (for example: routeing, authentication, templating and state management). Frameworks allow teams to keep the same design throughout the project by providing guidance for following the same practices.

Some examples of frameworks include React, Angular, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel and Spring. Each framework provides conventions, which dictate how developers will structure their code, how components are structured and how to connect with external services. The use of these conventions will speed up the development process, because a lot of the lower-level details (for instance, handling requests, loading the view, and handling the flow of data) are already built into the framework.

Additionally, using a framework provides for ease of scalability and maintainability. Teams who work in collaboration with other teams on the same project can share patterns and modularity to work together efficiently. Teams can quickly bring new developers up to speed, which leads to greater productivity for all members of the team. By creating a standard for the core parts of an application, frameworks reduce the amount of repetitive work that developers must do, thereby allowing them to devote more time to creating new features that will make their application unique. Because of these reasons, frameworks are commonly used by all industries and are considered to be a big part of making software development in today's world much more simple.
