Die Cut Printing Techniques
Die cutting involves using a sharp metal die to cut paper into custom shapes. It allows for unique packaging, business cards, and windows in print design.
Most paper comes as a rectangle. Die cutting changes that. It involves making a custom steel "cookie cutter" (the die) to punch shapes out of the paper stack.
This is how we get rounded corners on business cards, or a window cut out of a brochure cover to peek at the page underneath. It’s a physical production step that costs extra, but it creates a tactile, memorable object that people don't want to throw away.
