Complementary Color Pairing
Complementary colors are direct opposites on the color wheel. Using them together creates maximum contrast and vibrant energy, ideal for calls-to-action.
Complementary colors are opposites. They sit directly across from each other on the wheel—Red vs. Green, Blue vs. Orange. When you put them side-by-side, they create the highest possible contrast. They make each other look brighter.
In marketing, this is our "conversion" weapon. If our website is mostly calm blue, making the "Sign Up" button a punchy orange makes it pop off the screen. It’s impossible to miss. But we use the complement strictly as an accent; if used 50/50, it hurts the eyes.
